This is apparently Taylor Swift’s world, and we are all just living in it. She’s everywhere, from tours, movies, documentaries, and even football games. But now she’s entered the classroom as well. Who would’ve thought Taylor Swift could also help teach students different ways to count?
This Swiftie and teacher sure did. An Instagram creator with more than 60k followers and third grade teacher @mcpeekteaches shared a song that she and her class wrote to the tune of the bridge from “Cruel Summer” from Taylor’s album Lover so they could learn to count by eights.

,” she captioned her post. “My students and I came up with this song and we had an absolute blast doing it!”

Other Swifties in the comments of course adored this idea. One commenter said, “This is so clever! They will remember how to do this forever! I still remember the songs I learned for multiplication!”
Yeah, but I bet the song wasn’t as hip as this Taylor Swift song.
“Taylor Swift out here educating an entire generation,” another commenter said.
And they aren’t wrong.
Another teacher taught his students science to another Taylor Swift song, according to a SheKnows article.
Pennsylvania-based special education and gifted teacher Mr. Connolly wrote a song about water cycles to “Blank Space,” from Tay-Tay’s 1984 album. He posted about the song on his Instagram, which has 59K followers.
During his 15 year career as an educator, he uses a lot of different pop songs to help kids learn and retain information for a variety of subjects.
There are probably thousands of teachers taking a page from these two educator’s books, because honestly it’s a brilliant idea. Taylor Swift songs are incredibly catchy, whether you’d like to admit it or not, so they’re the perfect background for learning and retaining information.
Teachers take note. Apparently Taylor Swift can help educate the masses, and her songs are a great tool for helping kids learn.
