If you’ve been wondering if Princess Giselle really is living happily ever after all these years, you’re not alone. Thankfully, Disney has only made us wait 15 years to find out what happened to Amy Adams’ and Patrick Dempsey’s characters from “Enchanted.” Behold, the epic trailer for “Disenchanted” is finally here!
The movie has all the main actors from the first film—James Marsden, Idina Menzel, Adams and Dempsey respectively, and a new villain on board to boot. Maya Rudolph plays Malvina Monroe, a local real-estate agent and overall baddie.

The move takes Giselle’s family (her stepdaughter and new baby included) from New York City to the picturesque town of Monroeville, where they’re magically visited by their old pals Nancy (Menzel) and Edward (Marsden) from the Kingdom of Andalasia.
“Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, [Giselle] turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy,” an official logline for the film reads. “Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.”
What made “Enchanted” such a fan-favorite is the fact that it was always obvious the movie was spoofing the classic Disney princess films of yesteryear while also paying homage to them. And, you know, the storyline and acting were just brilliant on top of it all.

In the “Disenchanted” trailer, Giselle wields the power of an Andalasian wishing wand that Nancy and Edward bring her as a belated birthday gift. But not before Rudolph’s character tries to intervene and take fate into her own hands.
“As you can see, Giselle, everyone has their place,” Malvina says. “Once you found where you fit, Monroeville can be whatever you wish.”
As Nancy reminds Giselle, “Remember, happily ever after … it’s not always that easy.”
While we can’t tell how it all ends for Giselle and her beloved Robert and children, we can see there’s going to be another epic showdown between the heroine and villain that rivals the one with Susan Sarandon’s character in the OG film. Oh, and Idina Menzel actually sings in this one—HECK YES.
“I think maybe for a year or two, there were conversations about what [a second movie] would look like and what the story would be. But for some reason, it just didn’t happen,” Marsden said earlier this year to PEOPLE. “I don’t know really why. And I was told over the years that they were trying to get it made and trying to get the script written. And finally they got it together and I was happy to jump back into the crazy suits and swing the sword again.”
Almost 15 years TO THE DAY of the original premiere, Disenchanted premieres Nov. 18 on Disney+.
