There’s a drink and dance your way through a Vegas-style girl’s trip, and then there’s KC Davis’ style girls trip — where 99.99% of it is chillin’ in a hotel bed. The renowned author of How to Keep House While Drowning posted a TikTok with her girls where they:
- Napped
- Ate dinner in bed with a movie
- Slept
- Ate breakfast in bed
- Napped
- Shopped
- Napped
- Got massages
- Slept
You get the idea. Basically, it was the ultimate rest and rejuvenation-focused retreat with lots of fluffy pillows involved. And they’ve fittingly named it — The “Shop & Rot.”

Commenters say that’s the kind of vacation they can “get behind,” calling it the “literal perfect getaway.”
One writes, “See…I don’t need clubs, fancy places on girls trip. THIS is what I need. Coming to join your friend group.” Another says all they need now is friends and money to make it happen, pointing to the fact that such a getaway is a serious luxury for many moms. Because childcare. Because kids sports and school events and our actual jobs. And, well, because money.
Their vacation speaks to a big dilemma around burnout, exhaustion, and sleep-deprivation in the U.S., where 1 in 3 Americans isn’t sleeping enough (and almost half of us fall asleep during the day at least monthly without meaning to!). But not these ladies. They know how to actually getaway, and come back refreshed.
