We can hardly contain how excited we are about Moana 2, and a new post from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is only adding to the hype. Earlier this week, the 52-year-old actor shared a carousel of photos on Instagram from his final days recording his part in the movie as Maui. In the photos, we can see that The Rock turned this job into a family affair, bringing his daughters with him to the recording studio to watch (and offer some motivation).
His daughter can be seen in the pictures adjusting some of the recording equipment, recording her dad on an iPhone, and giving him a proud fist bump from the floor as he performs.
“That’s an official wrap (for now) on MAUI’s portion of our upcoming MOANA 2,” The Rock wrote in the caption.
He went on to shout out his daughter for helping him with her presence in the studio.
“As you see I had the greatest motivation to help me push thru to keep me strong,” he wrote. “The more down this windy road of life I go, the more I realize that my greatest and most comforting inspiration and joy, is being loved by my daughters.”
He added, “I have a feeling this little one already knows that about her daddy. Thanks everyone for your amazing support.”
The Rock is a dad to a 22-year-old daughter named Simone whom he shares with his ex-wife, Dany Garcia. He also shares daughters 8-year-old Jasmine and 6-year-old Tiana with his wife, Lauren Hashian. In many of his social media posts, he shares about being a proud girl dad and spending tons of quality time with his daughters — like in March, when he posted a heart-melting video of himself getting his makeup done by his two younger girls.
In the caption, he revealed what he learned from that experience: Lipstick stains the skin.
“Hey they’ll be a time down the road when this stuff won’t matter to them anymore, so sign me up – daddy’s in” he said.
