The Covid-19 pandemic gave many entrepreneurs the chance to showcase their talents to their family, friends, and local audiences. Ganja Goddess shop was created by Angelica Sanchez, a college student who decided to take a chance on her homemade jewelry, using real marijuana leaves and resin. There are multiple styles to choose from including: heart and moon shaped earrings, hoops, beads, butterflies and more. Sanchez says “It felt odd having to put myself out there since cannabis is so controversial, but I chose to have fun with it and business has been amazing. This business began as a hobby, but she soon learned that many were beginning to adore and purchase her products as weeks went on. “I gained 70 followers my first night of making the Ganja Goddess Instagram account and have already participated in two pop-up shops in San Francisco.” Since many individuals were utilizing social media while staying at home, it became a direct marketing tool for Angelica and other emerging businesses to gain attention from larger demographics.
Ganja Goddess shop was created for anyone who embodies confidence, style, and self-love. Sanchez intends to follow this entrepreneurial path in hopes of opening her own dispensary in the Bay Area in the future. “I want to continue doing local vendor markets because I genuinely love meeting new people and making in – person connections. The conversations I have had at these events have made me want to continue making jewelry as a way to connect with others rather than only focusing on the money.” Ganja Goddess shop is a thriving Latina/women-owned business in the Bay Area, CA with a bright, entrepreneurial future ahead.
