Teacher goes viral for giving her class extra special winter hats—and it’s SO sweet

Teachers, the bar for holiday gifts for your kids has been raised. A teacher on TikTok is going viral for the video she made to show off the incredible gifts she and her mom made for her entire class: special winter hats that each child helped design.

“This year, my mom presented me with this idea,” the teacher, who goes by Mrs. White on TikTok, says in the video. Holding up a paper with a colored-in outline of a beanie, she continues, “I gave each of my students a paper and they had to color the Christmas hat however they wanted. And then my mom made their designs.”

As she says that, she pulls a hat out of a gift bag and holds it up next to one of the colored-in paper sheets to show that the hand-knitted beanie exactly matches the rainbow-striped pattern that one of the kids in Mrs. White’s class drew. 

“They each get their own little hat out of the design that they each made. I have their paper in the bag with their hat,” she says. “They are gonna be so excited to see them.”

Um, no kidding. These are incredible. The amount of love, time, and care that went into this project. In the comments, Mrs. White revealed that it somehow only took her mom a week to knit all 22 hats for these kids, which means she had to have been knitting for like, 22 hours a day. The dedication is incredible.

“I don’t think people realize how much work went into these. I can’t imagine yarn prices and hours upon hours of work! She’s amazing,” one commenter wrote, and we could not agree more.

Another added, “People truly don’t realize that THIS is teaching. Passion, deep love, and hard work characterize this profession. THANK YOU to you and your mom!! “

Yeah, that about sums it up.
