Summer-ready: Our favorite tees for effortlessly stylish moms

If there’s one wardrobe staple that we can’t live without it’s the ever-versatile T-shirt.

Let’s be honest, there’s nothing quite like the comfort and ease of a well-made tee. They’re perfect for layering, dressing up or down, and adding a pop of personality to any outfit. And with so many styles, cuts, and colors to choose from, the possibilities are endless.

Over the years, I’ve bought countless summer T-shirts and if I can offer any advice it’s this: When you find one you love, buy multiple. No item of clothing will see more use than your favorite tee and more often than not they don’t exist when you go to replace it. (I’m personally still clinging to the last of my beloved American Apparel burn out v-necks which is now threadbare and full of holes. Its comfort is hard earned!)

So whether you’re a fan of classic crew necks, breezy V-necks, or graphic tees with quirky prints, we’ve got something for everyone. We’ve also tried to include a wide selection of eco-friendly styles. Fast fashion is one of our planet’s biggest challenges, and we know that how you spend your money matters. Not to mention when you purchase pieces that last, you can always sell your used clothing to put toward new purchases.

Get ready to discover some new favorites and fall in love with the humble summer t-shirt all over again!

Our favorite summer t-shirts

Good American

$39

Cotton Classic Tee

Is there an outfit more simple a chic than a crisp white tee and jeans? I don’t think so. And while the perfect one can be hard to find, we’re pretty fond of this one from Good American. The fit is just relaxed enough to look pulled together and without being too boxy or oversize. And we love knowing it’s made from recycled cotton in a wide range of inclusive sizes.

Quince

$15

Cotton Modal V Neck Tee

A basic v-neck, but make it fancy. Made from wrinkle-resistant modal which gives a smooth, sophisticated look this v-neck pairs perfectly with everything from tailored pants to your favorite pleated skirt. (Of course jeans always work too!) Let’s also give a round of applause for an eco-friendly option that costs the same as any fast fashion equivalent.

Madewell

$39.50

Mama-Embroidered Whisper Cotton Crewneck Tee

Perfect for Mother’s Day brunch or just to flex your hard-earned title! With a sweetly embroidered “Mama” heart and rounded hem, this light and airy tee feels just like a vintage fave.

Everlane

$35

The Organic Cotton Muscle Tee

If you’re looking for something a little bolder than a traditional tee, this one from Everlane is a real stand out. The double layer cap sleeves and exaggerated shoulders are just edgy enough and while it comes in traditional black, white and grey, it’s the electric blue that really steals the show. It’s made from organic GOTS certified cotton which may shrink just a touch, but be advised reviewers suggest sizing down anyway.

FP Movement

$38

Inspire Cotton T-Shirt

This unmissable hue is about to be everywhere this season! Paired with the drapey silhouette of one of my favorite Free People tops, it’s ideal for throwing on over your workout clothes or bathing suit. Not ready to embrace the neon? No problem. It comes in tons of other great colors too!

J. Crew

$39.50

Organic Slub Cotton Flutter-Sleeve T-shirt

With its cute flutter sleeve, this sweet tee can easily be dressed up or down. Tucked into a pair of wide-leg chinos with a simple belt and comfy flats? Warm weather perfection. (With bonus points for being organic cotton!)

Anine Bing

$100

Walker Tee Viper

Understated and edgy, I’m currently living in this top from LA-based Anine Bing. The washed black fabric makes it feel like that vintage college tee you just can’t part with and even though graphics aren’t usually my thing, I can’t help but feel drawn to the message of “Embody Your Truest Form.” Is there any message moms need more?

HonestBaby Clothing

$26.99

Organic Cotton Crop T-Shirt

Go shopping for onesies and end up shopping for yourself! The comfy and versatile organic cotton crop T-shirts from HonestBaby Clothing are made with a raw edge trim for a little dash of style. It comes in a ton of neutral and fun colors including some that are on sale on Amazon for less than $10 bucks!

Gap

$19

100% Organic Cotton Vintage Crewneck T-Shirt

With over 1.5K 5-star ratings, a wide array of colors, and a price tag of less than 20 bucks, the Organic Cotton Vintage Crewneck T-Shirt is hard to beat. It’s got a more relaxed fit and the fabric is lightweight, perfect for outdoor adventures with kids in tow.

Old Navy

$22.99

Oversized Vintage Tunic T-Shirt

Listen. If you’re all “enough with the crop tops,” I hear you. It’s hard to find T-shirts of considerable length these days–or even just ones that don’t hit your belly button the second you put your arm up. Take your style in the opposite direction with this tunic style from Old Navy. The oversize fit and soft material makes it perfect for wearing with leggings or tossing on over your bathing suit.
