After announcing that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Robert Pattinson last November, Suki Waterhouse brought a very special plus-one to the 2024 Emmys red carpet. The actress donned a red-hot Valentino design with an open back and side cutouts, and it turns out, the gorgeous gown needed to be tailored to fit her growing belly. Just fashion girl things, indeed.
Waterhouse looked stunning in the dramatic dress, which featured a bow at the base of her belly and a full skirt below. In an interview on the carpet, she told E! News that it needed a few last-minute changes to accommodate her bump.
“I was really excited about this look,” she told Live From E!: Emmys host Laverne Cox. “I tried it on a couple months ago but… the fitting was just me holding it to my body. So, they had to really take it apart and had to redesign this dress to make it fit the bump. But it does and I’m really happy that it worked.”
It’s unclear when Waterhouse is due, but one thing is certain: Baby’s first awards show was a total success, and someday, mama is going to love telling her little one all about their big outing before baby even makes their big debut earthside.
The Daisy Jones and the Six star was on hand to celebrate the miniseries for its nine Emmy nominations, for which it won two: Outstanding Period Costumes For A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie and Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie. The night before the big event, Waterhouse and Pattinson met up with famous pals like Chris Evans and Adrien Brody for a group date night out in Los Angeles.
And while Pattinson didn’t attend the Emmys with his rumored fiancée, it seems like she’s enjoying her big week. Here’s hoping she had a fabulous time celebrating all the exciting things she’s got going on these days… and that she has plenty of time to get some rest, because red carpets seem exhausting even if you’re not pregnant, let’s be real.
