I don’t know about about but I’ve always thought that the princesses at Disneyland with their sparkly dresses and long hair must live magical lives. But, apparently there’s a dark side to being a princess performer.
TikTok creator @crazieegracie recently posted a video where the princess performer shares how adults violate boundaries at kids parties. The viral video shows how (creepy) people find a way to ruin even the most precious things.
“At nearly every party there’s some adult that does not understand boundaries,” she begins. “My last party as Wonder Woman the way that it was handled was incredible.”
“So a man comes up to me, and this happens every Wonder Woman party without fail, man comes up to me and he goes, ‘can I take a picture of you?’ Just me, no children, just me. Why would he need that?”

Gracie explains that the man singled her out for a photo with just her. No one else included. Not even, you know, the little kid whose party it actually was. Why would he need that, indeed! But, as she explains, this isn’t a rare phenomenon. It’s actually super common in her line of work. What’s maybe not so common is his wife’s reaction.
“His wife says,” Gracie continues, “‘Harold, Harold, Harold, do you want to include your granddaughter in the picture with Wonder Woman?’”
Obviously Harold wasn’t planning on inviting his granddaughter in the photo op but his wife made him do it anyway. And folks, that’s not all. Because, as Gracie shares, Harold continued his completely out-of-life advances towards the princess performer by telling her he can TEXT the photo to her if she just gives him her number. In what world, Harold?!
Of course, Harold’s wife heard that too and put a stop to his outrageous behavior by saying, “she has plenty,” before pulling him away. If you’re disgusted by that story then you’re not alone. The princess performer’s TikTok video has had a lot of people sounding off in the comments.
“harold needs a leash”
“Not the wife having to parent him
“Ugh. So disappointing. Just WHY??”
One person also asked, “Some adult or some man?” Gracie uploaded a follow-up video explaining why she didn’t point a finger at men only.
As she explains in the video, it’s not just the Harolds of the world. It’s also drunk aunts. But, also maybe this is part of a larger conversation about how we treat service people in general. People in costume are still people. Read that again, Harold.
“Some adults, I think, get lost and they think of me or other performers as less of a human being and more of a prop and that’s just not really cool,” Gracie says.
