In a video that is going viral, a news reporter mom hilariously reports on her toddler’s sugar rush. And, who’s the culprit? Grandma, of course!
Kayla Sullivan’s recent TikTok video shows her holding a Ziplock bag full of candy and using her spot-on reporter’s voice to talk about how the strict mother she grew up with is now an indulgent Nonna to her son.
“That’s exactly right Bob and Barb, this is the aftermath of too much sugar. Authorities are working to determine how much the toddler consumed at his Nonna’s house earlier today,” she says.
The former reporter can be seen standing still, holding the Ziplock evidence for her live coverage and in the background is clearly a toddler running around in circles and repeating the same line over and over again.
Her toddler is chanting the words, “Nonna never says no,” as he runs around. To the grandparents who babysit and love our children, we are forever grateful. But, you might still have a moment of regret when you pick your child up and they’re hopped on sugar.
The mother of one continues to say that even though Nonna never says no to her grandson, this reporter can bear witness to the fact that Nonna did not have this problem during her own childhood.
“However I can confirm “no” was her favorite word about 20 years ago. Back to you,” she ends.
Every now and then you might have to remind your child’s grandparents that they need to update their parenting skills. Whether it’s about giving your child too much candy or how they choose to discipline, it’s absolutely OK to set boundaries with them. The magic of grandparents is beyond comparison even if they do sometimes need a little nudge in their parenting skills.
This viral video is captioned, “Anyone else’s mom get soft once they became a grandparent?
“As a Nonna, I am guilty!!!
“this is totally my dad with my niece.. he could never say no, but I know we heard it all the time 28yrs ago..
“this is the funniest thing I’ve seen all week. Sorry though!
“
Kayla Sullivan’s page is filled with everyday content with a funny twist using her reporter’s voice. Last year, another video of hers went viral when she reported on her child’s tantrum.
