Moms joke about what a REAL ‘school pick up outfit’ looks like after TikTok goes viral

Influencer Alix Earle has become famous on TikTok for her “get ready with me” videos (FYI: that’s GRWM), and the 22-year-old does have impeccable style. But a recent video had moms everywhere laughing when Earle described a dolled-up look for a Miami Dolphins game as like a “mom picking her kids up from school,” because most moms are not donning designer duds on the school pick up line.

Earle took fans and followers along as she got ready for the football game, planning her outfit around a baseball cap in the team’s turquoise and orange colors. She paired it with a bright orange bodysuit, a pair of Levi’s cropped denim shorts, and a pair of white pointy-toe kitten heels, adding, “They’re comfy; I can walk in them.” She accessorized with a “tiny little Jimmy Choo,” in white to coordinate with her heels and a silver bangle on her wrist.

“I feel like a mom picking up her kids from school,” she quipped. “I don’t know why a mom would be dressed like this to pick her kids up from school but that’s what I’m going to be dressed like.”

It didn’t take long for moms to chime in with their thoughts, and yes, it’s just as hilarious as you’d imagine. One mom started her video in bed, throwing a claw clip in her hair and a sweatshirt over her pajamas as she slung her purse and headed out the door. Another mom already in the car showed off a messy half-bun, athletic tee, and tan sweatpants, adding, “I only have one shoe on.” Yet another mama getting out of the car sported massive sunglasses, a zip-up sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, Crocs, and a utility bag for her school run.

Earle’s clip racked up more than four million views, and commenters on the original post had plenty of humor to share, too. “The picking up her kids from school sent me bc I drop off in my morning sweatshirt and pick up in my afternoon sweatshirt lol” wrote one mom. Another joked: “Idc if it’s 10 years from now. I’m gunna need you to stitch this wearing the sweatshirt you haven’t washed in days when you have a kid ” Yet another summed it up perfectly, writing: “I thought I’d look like that too when I picked up my kids from school. However I look like Adam Sandler.”

Listen, Adam Sandler is a bonafide fashion icon, so if your school run look leans more Sandler than TikTok influencer, you’re doing just great. And you’re probably a lot more comfy, too!
