Planning any summer family vacations? The exciting part is booking the tickets but when it comes to packing everything, well, that can feel like a chore. But, not with this packing hack.
Sierra posts mom hacks and lifestyle tips on her TikTok account. Her video about packing hacks for kids is not only a genius move but it will make your life on vacation so much easier.
Her video begins with a few empty Ziplock bags and the caption explains that every day gets it’s own assigned bag. These are not your average sandwich-sized bags. Rather, they’re the big, jumbo-sized ones. She marks each day of vacation on it’s assigned bag—Monday, Tuesday and so forth. The idea is to have as many bags as you would need for each day of your getaway.
Then, she starts filling each bag with the basics. First goes underwear, socks and pajamas. Then, it’s all about the OOTD (outfit of the day) as well as any accessories. She tucks the undergarments inside of the outerwear and neatly folds it all into the plastic baggie. One side of the suitcase is dedicated to random items such as wipes, swim suits or back-up clothes. The other side houses the plastic bags with the daily outfits and shoes. The middle zip is for last-minute items, she explains. And, voila! That’s it.
Imagine you’re going away on a girls trip. And maybe your children are off on their own first-time-without-mom trip. If you follow this mama’s packing hacks for kids then it takes all of the guesswork out of deciding what to put on your child and when, especially since you’re not there to make executive decisions. This way, you’ve already decided what they’ll wear each day.
A packing hack like this is pretty universal. So, you don’t have to keep it limited to packing your child’s clothes like this. Whether you use adult-sized packing cubes or stick with a DIY version like plastic bags, your next vacation prep will be a breeze.
This mama’s packing hack was viewed more than a million times and the comments attest to the fact that it’s a great mom hack to use.
