Planning a child’s birthday party is not easy. Not only do you have to think about how to keep a rambunctious group of little humans entertained but you also have to prep for the adults that come with them.
There’s bound to be some mishaps! Of all the unfortunate mistakes, you probably weren’t thinking of inviting over 400 people. And yet, that’s exactly what happened to one poor mom just trying to organize her child’s birthday party invitations.
Emily King, who goes by @twodachshundkings on TikTok, shared this hilarious video detailing where things went wrong.
“I just made an Evite for my daughter’s first birthday party and on Evite it says, ‘Import contacts’ and I thought it meant import to select through.”
“No—it imported all 487 of my contacts and invited them to this birthday party,” continued King. “Not only did it invite my boss, all of my coworkers (and) all of the people that have ever been stored in my phone but it sent invitations based (on) how they are stored in my phone.”
“I want you to just take a second and think about everyone stored in your phone and how they’re stored in your phone,” she said. “And then imagine someone receiving an invitation. ‘Derek Eye Roll,’ he received an invitation. ‘Jess Hit Her Car In Parking Lot.’”
“Anyways, I have to quit or get a new identity,” said King. “I don’t even know.”
The horror! Imagine the sheer and utter awkwardness of receiving messages from these people asking what in the world is going on and why they are randomly invited to your child’s birthday party. Even worse, what if they actually showed up!
The comments do NOT disappoint on this one. Read through for a good chuckle.
“This should qualify you for witness protection.”
“Note to self: never use evite”
“‘Rita annoying co-worker’ accepted evite”
“I wonder if ‘Sarah weird downstairs lady’ is coming”
“I wonder if ‘Table on FB Marketplace’ will attend? Maybe he can bring said table.”
“I would be SPIRALING.”
“Crying screaming and throwing up for you.”

King’s viral video landed her an interview with Today. “It was hilarious and terrifying,” she says. “I was mortified and in shock.”
King tells Today that the guest list went as far back as 15 years worth of old contacts. Yikes!
Although she was able to delete the invite just a few minutes later she says, “All the blood drained from my body.”
If your entire contact list received an invitation from you what would you do?
