Life imitates art for Mandy Moore, because she recently announced she’s expecting her own ‘big three’ soon. “This Is Us” fans were delighted to share in Moore’s baby news, which she revealed in a super sweet Instagram post on May 31.
The actress shared a photo of her sons Gus, 3, and Ozzie, 19 months, both wearing shirts proclaiming their new roles: “Big” and “Middle,” respectively, sweetly holding hands for the shot. In her caption, the 40-year-old wrote, “Sometimes life imitates art. The third in our own Big Three coming soon. Can’t wait for these boys to have a baby sister.”
Of course, the caption nods to Moore’s role as Rebecca Pearson on the beloved NBC series, in which she played the mom to siblings Kevin, Kate, and Randall, portrayed in their adult years by Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, and Sterling K. Brown.
The fact that Moore will be expecting a girl makes it all the more fitting. In fact, Metz herself took to the comments section to send her enthusiastic well wishes, writing, “Mannnnndyyyyyy!!! Awwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! Congratulations!!!”
Moore and husband Taylor Goldsmith have been open about their parenting journey every step of the way, with the former teen pop queen sharing that she’d struggled to get pregnant the first time around. She’s also been candid about the pains of having two under two, and anyone else who has ever had babies back-to-back will certainly understand the unique exhaustion involved there.
Only one day after her pregnancy announcement, Moore shared a mirror selfie on Instagram Stories, showing off her baby bump. In the since-expired post, she can be seen wearing a floor-length leopard print slip dress, cradling her stomach and captioning the photo: “Last night’s lewk. Guess I don’t have to try to camouflage anymore.” And yes, anyone who has ever had to strategically hide a pregnancy in that first trimester is all too familiar with the relief of finally being able to show it off proudly without worrying someone might catch on.
No word on when Moore is due with her baby girl, but we’re wishing her and her growing family all the best in this exciting new chapter.
