Direct-to-Consumer brands have seen an uptick in the last few years, and are changing the game when it comes to brands connecting with their customers while eliminating the middleman. Here at Portelle we recognize the importance of highlighting Women-owned businesses so here’s a list of consumer-based brands owned by women you should check out!

1. Glossier: Glossier founded by Emily Weiss is a makeup and skincare brand that provides a variety of products that range from serums, highlighters, blushes to lipsticks. From its minimalist packaging with soft colors to its dewy no-makeup looks as a final result, Glossier offers its consumers subtle yet dreamy makeup and skin with every use.

2.Stitch Fix: Stitch Fix is an awesome personal styling platform for women, men, and children founded by Katrina Lake. Stitch Fix offers its consumers personalized shopping experiences based off style, size, and budget using recommendation algorithms. To top it off they also offer free shipping and returns!

3. Rent the Runway: RTR Founded by Jennifer Hyman and Jennifer Fleiss provides its consumers with the option to rent designer dresses and accessories for events at amazing prices! An awesome company allowing its consumers to all feel like they’re on a runway no matter what the special occasion is.

4. Mented: Mented a Black-owned Cosmetics company was founded by KJ Miller. Mented prides itself on providing makeup in every shade of color for its consumers. Chillhouse: Chillhouse is a Latina-owned company that describes themselves as a “destination for modern self-care.” Founded by Cyndi Ramirez, Chillhouse offers its customers an in-person experience at its Soho flagship with services such as facials, massages, manicures and pedicures. As for its online consumers, they are able to partake in Chillhouse’s luxury through press-on nails, Chillhouse merch, candles, and facial tools!
