Keke Palmer’s supportive message to single parents—’pull out your cape’

There are so many things in life that don’t quite make sense until you experience them and motherhood is no different.

Keke Palmer’s supportive message to single parents shows just how much the first-time mom can now empathize with parents since becoming one herself. She took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message in support of the single mothers and fathers who do it all.

“I just came on here to say,” the mother of one began, “if you are a single parent pull out your cape. As a matter of fact, unclip your angel wings because I don’t know how else you did it.”

The 29-year-old and her boyfriend, Darius Jackson, recently welcomed their baby boy at the end of February. In the short amount of time since they’ve been inaugurated into the parenthood club, Keke Palmer is already caught up on just how much parenting entails.

Palmer also adds that she doesn’t want her message to sound insensitive to single parents because, “I know there’s a million and one reasons why somebody wants to become a single parent or has become a single parent.”

“Maybe they lost somebody. Maybe they don’t want to deal with somebody. Maybe it’s a choice,” she continued. “But when it comes to raising a kid, I’ve already learned in these short few days that it takes a village and sometimes that’s a privilege.”

The actor addresses all of the single parents, people in her circle to family members and everyone that she doesn’t know, when she says, “It could bring tears to my eyes. I am just truly, profoundly impressed,” she said.

Palmer’s emotional video struck a cord with so many celebrity moms and single parents who felt seen by her comments.

“Amen!!! This needs to be on repeat!!

“Single parenting ain’t NOOOO JOKE! Mine is a senior next year and I’ll never do it again. Rewarding, but very difficult.”

“Thank you !!! Its definitely a task appreciate this post god bless all the single moms !!

“Awwww Keke! I don’t know you but it means so much to hear you say this!!! I keep telling my son that I might not have done everything right, but I tried my best! It was hard…

“Had a rough morning and this message was for ME!

“TRUTH!!! It’s one of the first things you realise as a new mom!!!”

Keke Palmer gave SNL viewers the best baby bump reveal last December when she first shared her happy news with the audience. She ripped open the long jacket she was wearing on stage and revealed her growing baby bump!

The moment was extra special due to Palmer’s condition. The actor suffers from polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) which is known to cause fertility issues in women.
