We all do it. When women go to the gynecologist for that annual checkup, there’s a certain habit we all share, even if no one ever talks about it. And now, a viral TikTok is shining a light on all of our greatest fears when the doctor finally enters the room.
In the hilarious video, the doctor (or someone posing as the doctor, most likely) is seen coming in for an appointment, all business. But then, her attitude suddenly changes.
“Where is it?” she asks as she sprints across the room and starts tearing through the patient’s belongings.
Finally, she holds a pair of panties up in the air.
“I knew it,” she says. “Is this yours? Disgusting.”

When you go to the gynecologist, there’s a standard order of operations. First, you undress as quickly as possible, because there’s truly nothing worse than getting caught by someone opening the door before you’re safely inside that paper gown. Never mind the fact that this doctor is about to stare down one of your most intimate places — you cannot allow her to see you naked. Having to awkwardly shout, “Not yet!” when someone prematurely knocks is hardly better.
Then, once the gown is properly in place, it’s time to neatly fold your clothes on the chair in the corner of the room, lest the gynecologist thinks you’re a total slob. And the most important part? Tucking your panties away into one of your pant legs first, so they’re as hidden as possible.

Why do all women do this? We truly don’t know. All we know is that, under no circumstances can we allow this doctor to know that we wear panties — regardless of the fact that she’s about to be eye level with our labia. It’s just one of those universal truths that you accept without ever knowing exactly why.
