Beyoncé tells young fan she’ll remember her ‘forever’ in sweet viral moment

After Beyoncé accepted the Innovator Award from fellow music legend Stevie Wonder at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday night, she reunited with husband Jay-Z and their 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, backstage. As the trio attempted to leave the venue amidst the crush of fans and cameras, one pint-sized Beyhive member managed to catch the attention of Queen Bey herself, and the pair shared the sweetest moment together.

Captured by Beyoncé Legion fan account on X (formerly Twitter), the singer can be seen greeting the young fan, held in her mom’s arms and donning the cutest hot pink tutu and enormous white hair bow. First, Bey told the little girl, “You are so beautiful,” to which she proudly holds up her Barbie doll. When the fan tells her the doll’s name is Sarah, Bey responds by saying, “She’s so pretty.”

Then, the girl’s mom shares that her daughter’s name is also Sarah, which makes Beyoncé beam and say, “Oh my goodness, y’all have the same name? I will remember you forever, Sarah.” She then waves goodbye, protectively reaching for Blue Ivy, who is trailing behind in the crowd with her dad.

Of course, what was a brief interaction of many for the “Texas Hold ‘Em” crooner will now forever be a major moment for sweet Sarah, who has earned bragging rights about showing off her Barbie doll to a living legend for the rest of her life. Fans loved the moment, which understandably went viral after it was shared online.

Beyoncé has long had a special bond with her young fans, dedicating a video montage of some of her biggest songs to a 13-year-old fan named Lyric Chanel after she died in 2021 due to complications from cancer and anaplastic ependymoma.

Back in 2013, she squatted down in front of a young blind fan at a concert in Perth, Australia, inviting the fan to sing “Irreplaceable” with her, shouting her out to the crowd and asking them to cheer for her.

Leave it to Bey to make her fans feel seen, no matter how young they might be. Too sweet, indeed.
